21st June – 24th June – Bénodet
The following day I hired a cycle (not electric) from Cycletty which was a 15 minute walk from the marina – Euro11 per day. (Note they are closed on Sundays.). I cycled across the bridge into St Marine where I stopped for morning coffee before heading along the coast line in a meandering and not very well planned way!

The house on this side of the river were very nice – not opulent – but full of character and well cared for. Lots of beaches and none too crowded.

On the way back rather than go over the bridge I took the ferry from St Marine to Bénodet – I think it was Euro5. Prior to that I sat down in the cafe where I had morning coffee for lunch of langoustines.

If I visited again I would opt for the St Marine rather than the Bénodet. Whilst smaller it had a quieter and nicer feel to the place.

Sunday was was a bit of a lazy day. Clean up the boat, launderette for the bedding and walk along the quayside.
Monday I had decided to sail for the Iles de Glenan – a group of very low lying islands about 12 miles off the coast from Bénodet. Shopping was completed in the morning with the supermarket a 10 minute pleasant walk along river bank. The Supermarket was impressive and I am still taken a little by surprise at the size of their deli counters – cheese, fish, meats. I treated my self to some rump steak for that night as well as cheese and pate for lunch.
Departed at low water to avoid the worst of the tidal flow.
